Backyards Surf & Skate Involved in New Surf Film

A brand new surf movie is in the pipeline and Backyards Surf and Skate Shop were exclusively approached to help offer thier services on set. The promo, featuring Tom Felton, who starred as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter sequals, and Ed Speeler, from the film Eragon, was shot on the picturesque cliffside at Highcliff in Dorset on the weekend of the 18th October 2009. The feature film, 'In between the Waves' will be the latest offering from Bafta nominated Director Benjamin Johns, as well as cinematographer Mark Irwin who worked on Something about Mary, Road Trip and Me myself and Irene.

"After winning their first foreign surf heat in France, a massive accidental explosion propels best of friends Guy (Ed Speeler) and Luke (Tom Felton) on a wild escape journey. They hit the road down Europe 's Atlantic coast with their new companion, Spanish beauty, Charlie. But all is not what it seems and Guy and Luke are pulled in different directions by Charlie who gradually lures them onto a new path, to a majestic coastal region in Morocco ".

Scenes for the promo trailer were filmed at Highcliff, overlooking the beach by the Cliffhanger Café. The surfboards, wetsuits, some of the props, as well as extras were provided by Backyards Surf & Skate shop and YDNA Boardriders. The film will finally be shot on location in France, Spain, Morocco and the UK next year .
